Computer Science Major, Class of 2015

As a kid growing up in Mexico, Arturo Lucatero had a self-described “crazy dream”: to work at Microsoft, perhaps the world’s biggest name in the computer industry. Upon arriving in the U.S. as a teen – and subsequently joining the George Fox community – the dream suddenly wasn’t so farfetched. Today, Lucatero is living proof that you don’t have to settle for whatever job comes along. He is a program manager in the identity division of Microsoft at its world headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

“As a high school kid, I didn’t think ‘the dream’ was within reach. The Fox community changed my way of thinking. I gained an internship with Intel and later Microsoft, and the smaller class sizes allowed me to get to know my professors, who came alongside me and prepared me for the transition to the ‘real world.’ I gained a rich liberal arts education that differentiates me from many of my peers in the industry.
