The 2025-2026 alliance scholarship is meaningful to me because this scholarship allows me to pursue a valuable educational experience at Bushnell University. Bushnell University is a great place to grow in my faith and my academics. Receiving this scholarship makes me feel super grateful, knowing I am able to receive financial support from someone who believes in my future enough to provide me financial support. As a first-generation Mexican student, I have seen family make financial, lifestyle, and emotional sacrifices for me to be here. This scholarship not only gives me the opportunity to learn and grow at Bushnell, but it also honors the hard work and sacrifices my family has made. Thank you for investing in my future!
Why did you choose your college and major?
I chose Bushnell University because it offers a communications program that I believe will prepare me for a career in public relations. I also believe in the school’s tri-athlete model of character, which earned recognition as the 2024-2025 Cascade Conference School of Character. As a women’s soccer player, I’ve been grateful to be part of a team where I can help make a difference while growing as both an athlete and a person. I am also honored to be part of a Christ-centered community and a soccer program that integrates faith and spiritual practices. At Bushnell, I believe I can continue to grow my communication skills that will positively impact both my play on the field and my contributions to the campus community.
After graduation, I plan to…
Find a campaign that aims to make a positive impact in the community or the world. My goal is to work with a team that values effective communication and collaboration. I want to share my public relations knowledge with others because I believe public relations is a skill that benefits everyone, both personally and professionally.
This photo was taken at the Mckenzie River during orientation this year on August 23, 2025. I’m at the front with a hat on. I got to meet a lot of new people and help others by answering questions, offering advice, and sharing my experience at Bushnell University as a fish group leader!

Why was this scholarship meaningful to you?
I am honored to be a recipient of the OAICU BNSF Railway Foundation Scholarship. This award is meaningful and deeply appreciated to help me continue to pursue my wish of getting a college degree at George Fox University. Thank you so much for your generous support. The award gives me an opportunity to learn skills that are essential for my future career and life outside of the classroom. It allows me to achieve a degree as a first generation college student to build a successful future. Without your support, many students such as myself wouldn’t be able to pursue degrees with such ease.
Why did you choose your college and major?
I chose to attend George Fox University for a handful of reasons. The Be Known promise at Fox promises that each student will be known academically, spiritually, and personally. I was drawn to the idea of being known in all of those areas. Attending a Christian University with such a close knit community was something I strived to look for and found at George Fox. I appreciated the strong emphasis on integrating faith and learning, so that I am not only able to grow academically but deepen my faith as well. The welcoming environment has given me a place to call home where I've been given the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging.
After graduation, I plan to…
After graduation, I plan to begin my career in Financial Services, where I can gain valuable experience, build my professional reputation, and create strong relationships with clients. I am eager to apply the knowledge and skills I’ve gained through my education to help individuals make informed financial decisions and guide them to financial success. Over time, I hope to advance into a leadership role where I can mentor others and contribute to the growth of my organization. In the end, my goal is to make a meaningful impact in the financial industry by promoting integrity, trust, and long-term success for my clients.

After graduation, I plan to combine my business degree with my real estate license to pursue a career in the real estate industry. My long-term goal is to establish my own business, where I can help families achieve their dream of homeownership. I am passionate about guiding people through the complexities of the housing market, and I believe my education in business, paired with real estate expertise, will allow me to provide both practical and strategic solutions. In addition, I have recently developed a strong interest in marketing and would like to explore opportunities in this field as well. The BNSF Railway Foundation Scholarship is especially meaningful to me because it directly eases the financial burden of pursuing higher education as a first-generation college student from a Hispanic household. Since I am the first in my family to attend college, navigating the cost of school is a huge factor in my ability to focus on academics, and this scholarship provides the support I truly need. Why was this scholarship meaningful to you?
This scholarship is deeply meaningful to me because it helps make an education at a private college like Willamette possible. As a first-generation college student, the financial burden of higher education has always been one of my greatest concerns. Balancing work alongside my academic responsibilities can be challenging, and this scholarship has significantly eased that stress. Because of this support, I am able to focus more fully on my studies, my personal growth, and making the most of my college experience without the constant worry of affordability.
