Alaska Airlines Helps Oregon Private Colleges Reach New Heights

By January 18, 2023No Comments

TUALATIN, OR – Since 1986, Alaska Airlines has provided an annual in-kind contribution of round trip, main cabin flight vouchers for use by member colleges of the Oregon Alliance of Independent Colleges & Universities (“The Alliance”). For 2023, Alaska Airlines generously renewed their support, contributing 75 round trip, systemwide vouchers for use by the colleges to recruit students, meet with donors, send representatives to academic conferences and events, and other college serving purposes. The cumulative value of Alaska Airlines’ in-kind contributions totals over $2 million and more than 2,530 tickets have been used over the course of the partnership.

“Western Seminary was incredibly grateful to receive Alaska Airlines vouchers this year,” said one of The Alliance’s twelve member institutions. “It gave us the ability to fly two faculty and staff members round trip to participate in one of our satellite campuses commencement ceremony and graduation festivities. This gift in kind was immensely helpful! We continue to be grateful for the thoughtfulness and support of the work we do within higher education expressed to us by Alaska Airlines.”

The Alliance is grateful for the tangible, direct budget-relieving support for Alliance member institutions in their efforts to bring new gifted students to the region, reengage with alumni and friends across the country, and provide professional development opportunities to their employees. This partnership helps to transform the lives of the communities served by private, nonprofit colleges and universities in Oregon.
