Health Science, 2015
Currently a medical student at the prestigious Oregon Health & Science University, Emma said, “The education I received at Corban was exactly what I needed to prepare for the MCAT and medical school. My professors invested in me as a student and as a person, helping me to achieve my goals.” As a health science major, Emma helped pioneer Corban’s undergraduate research program, which allows students to experiment and perform quality research on medically-relevant topics, and Corban’s Annual Science Symposium, where students can present their findings. With faculty support, Emma also had her research published, which she said, “was beneficial in my acceptance to med school at OHSU.” Corban’s small classes and dedicated faculty made it possible for Emma to gain experience as a lab assistant and adjunct instructor at Corban, further building her resume for medical school. Emma said, “I am eager to continue my training to pursue my longtime dream of becoming a pediatrician.”
